Odds at each other's side!

Last week, I was travelling to my hometown by train. It made a halt at a place, I don't which station it was as it was really dark and I was inside a new "postered" Rajdhani Express. But I still could see clearly the train standing right next to ours. As we slowly swayed past the train, one stark reality hit me. There was a sparsely filled AC coach with people sleeping with all the leisures in the world. And right next to it was a general compartment, overflowing with people, people who don't know what leisure is, people who have to even fight for the little place to sit clumsily. This is the harsh reality of India. The great divide, with which every passing second is getting wider. Though its has always been present, in and around me, but don't know why it moved me that moment so much as to make me feel like crying.

Where will this end? Would those hard working souls just persih without being rewarded? I don't know. All I can see is a bleak future. How much ever the better becomes best, the true victory of a nation is tp lift the worse to atleast good!

I have noticed the same thing everywhere. There's a wall dividing two sectors here. One side, there are bungalows with at least one car for each family member... on the otherside, there are pedal rickshaw pullers fighting for everyday meal !!! whole bloody india is like that. money is always saturated in bank accounts of business leaders. there's no equal distribution at all. a truck driver does more hardwork than bank manager even then, manager has reputed salary and truck drivers, well. we all know. !

It's a very interesting thing to think about, and write about, and forget about. Work about? No.

One cannot just sit back and witness the future (which one thinks is bleak).
Whenever I am in such a situation, I just ask myself, what is my contribution to this reality?
And is there something that I can do to make that future not so bleak.

I at least know the leisure and have even experienced it a lot of time...most of the leisure in the world are accessible to people like us. What I meant in the post is, those guys didn't know the leisure of sleeping without any hassles etc...

That comment from Ray is a Spam unfortunately !!!

About this post, its good that you feel sensitive towards this... and I am sure an individuals sensitization does make a difference !

When the right time comes, do make an attempt to do something about it and feel free to ask for assistance as well !

I guess definition of leisure varies from person to person. did you find all those ppl crowded around each other unhappy ... cribbing.. ??

I *guess* they were pretty much content that they have place on a train to travel back to home.

Yes, the contrast and divide is there, but in India, where the population is more and resources less, scenes like this are quite quite common and almost impossible to eradicate completely. If the divide goes, can you imagine the life in India?
